How to Rebuild and Repair Entourage Database?

Database Corruption is very common in Microsoft Entourage and there is wide range of reasons like virus infection, application malfunction, improper system shutdown, database header corruption, entourage identity corruption, database structure corruption and including Entourage errors. When it happens or your account get damaged than you can not access your emails, contacts, task, notes, attachments and calender items. It leads to serve data loss situation and you need to have rebuild Entourage identity.


You need to have take complete backup of Entourage database to avoid situation. But if Entourage backup not taken than rebuild your account and create new identity. However, regular rebuild identity are not recommended. It is only recommended when database corruption situation arise or when you running out the maximum limit of the disk space.


There is inbuilt maintenance tool for Entourage email client to fix above mention database corruption errors with the help of rebuilding the database. To rebuild the Entourage database you have to follow some steps as follows:


Quit all the application: You must quit all application before start the following steps:


  • Click Application Menu(Top of the menu bar) – Select Quit

  • Launch MS Entourage while holing Option key to start database utility

  • Select Rebuild Database and than click Continue.

  • Click Done. Click Quit than start Entourage and check see whether problem is resolved.


Now start Entourage and check whether problem is resolved or not. If yes than OK but still problem is not resolved than you can use advance option of rebuild Entourage database. It is possible you may lose some data during this process but this option should be used as last stage.
